Berrow New Development Opening

It is Willow Tree Housing Partnership’s (WTHP) great pleasure to announce the opening of Cavalla Mews, a high quality new development in the village of Berrow, Somerset. In delivering this project WTHP have provided much needed accommodation to those who are in need and that live locally.

To celebrate this WTHP held an opening event attended by many who helped to make the scheme possible, including Sedgemoor Councillors, Parish Councillors, the former landowner, Joe Notaro, Classic Builders our constructors, and our employer’s agent, NRP. Members of WTHP Board, their CEO and staff were also present to celebrate.

Four of WTHP’s new tenants were at the event and proudly showing their new homes. They were particularly pleased about the finish on the properties and the large private gardens. One tenant, Mr Moore said that being allocated one of the properties, which has all facilities downstairs, will make a huge difference to his life having recently had an operation following a brain tumour which has left him with mobility issues.

There are eight rented properties which accommodate one, two and three bed needs. These are Affordable Rent properties charging 80% of the market rental value. Many of the properties are level access and may be suitable for those with disabilities. In addition there are two Shared Ownership properties which will allow those seeking to get onto the property ladder a great opportunity to take that first step in a way that is affordable. The scheme was commended for the quality of workmanship and also the spacious nature of the build. As one attendee put it ‘these properties have room to breathe’.

CEO Donna Johnson said:
“It is no doubt that these properties will be an asset to the community and serve a significant need for housing of this type in this area. I am proud to have worked with our trusted and determined partners in making this scheme a reality, and particularly during such challenging times.”
